This morning a story caught my eye. “Candy Crush Developers Set To Be Laid Off By Microsoft Are Reportedly Being Replaced By The AI Tools They Were Told To Build.” Yeah, you read that right. Around 200 developers at King, the studio behind Candy Crush, are reportedly losing their jobs, and their replacements? The very AI tools they spent years building. Is this the start of the AI take over? Is AI replacing jobs?
To be honest I think most people know its coming. I predicted it in a post from 2017. There are people who deny it but I think they are just fooling themselves. There’s no way as AI gets more powerful that its not going to change the way we do things. The real question is what is the world going to be like in the aftermath?
AI replacing entry level jobs.
This story hits close to home for anyone in tech. I work in IT and I can predict AI will have a big impact in that field. I tested Grok’s new companion mode this morning as well to see what all the hype was about and one of the first thing I thought about was how something like this could replace entry level jobs. Stuff like taking calls and recording incident tickets. This could even do basic troubleshooting steps. I wonder if there will even be any entry level jobs for people in the future?
AI replacing all jobs?
But I don’t see it stopping there. Elon musk himself said AI will be smarter than humans by 2029. I think after AI replaces entry level jobs it will work its way up. The question is how far can it go? I don’t know the answer to that.

Utopia or Dystopia Future
I’ll admit AI can do incredible things. I think it can be an amazing tool for someone who already had a good foundation in an area. But if we get to the point were AI is doing everything then what do we do?
The people who control and push AI are selling the picture of a Utopia were we don’t have to work as hard. Others see it as a dystopia were we lose the ability to provide for ourselves and are therefore controlled by whoever owns the AI.
The Bible predicts a dystopia future were we are controlled. An image coming alive and no buying or selling without permission, Could that be AI related? Or maybe that is referring to some yet unknown thing in the future?

I hope AI leads us to better lives. Like I said earlier its an amazing tool and I think in the right hands it could do lots of good things. But in the wrong hands it could be very bad.
